A Lay Servant is a member of the local church, ready and willing to serve
the church, well informed on and committed to the Scriptures, and willing to
learn more. A Lay Servant is encouraged to discover their Spiritual Gift(s)
given by the Holy Spirit. A Lay Servant is encouraged to be familiar with
the doctrine, heritage, organization and life of The United Methodist
Church. They are equipped to serve through witnessing, care giving, spoken
communications, church and community leadership and many other servant
hood opportunities.
The Lay Servant Ministries program offers training opportunities for laity
twice a year. The courses are offered in the spring and fall. Perhaps the
