Welcome to our church website! We realize as people search for a church, this is often the first contact. While navigating our site, we hope you will sense our passion for reaching people and for God’s transforming Presence. “Reaching People & Sharing God’s Infinite Love” is our mantra.
We pray the Holy Spirit will lead you to the next level of establishing a relationship with us by either calling or emailing our pastor, or by being our guest at our Sunday morning Worship Experience. Through such contact, we believe you will sense our genuine interest in helping others find their purpose in life, and their place in Christ’s body, the church.
Newberry United Methodist Church is a small but growing church, with a heart for God and a strong desire to proclaim Christ and his Good News in this unique, rural community. While the life cycle of a church is generally that of a human (about 70 or 80 years), to God’s glory, this church has been a witness to our community for 114 years.
Yet today, we are renewed in Spirit, growing in vision, and excited over the prospects of our next steps in ministry. In fact, the church has recently unanimously adopted a 3-5 Year Plan of Growth and Action, with this website being a vital part of this plan. As we are now well into the plan, we expect the Holy Spirit to awaken people to God’s Word and respond to Christ’s call to discipleship. We are witnessing the Holy Spirit impact our community through feeding the hungry, partnering with local public schools, festival outreaches, and small group (discipleship) development.
We have asked God to help us find innovative ways to reach the hearts of people and to find new ways to do things in this new world and new environment. We pray that as you sincerely seek God’s direction for your life, you will visit us as you take the next step in your search for a local church with which you can identify.
