Living a Clockwise Life

The day after Christmas day. The second night after Christmas eve night.  What makes this day any different than anyother?  Has there been a change in yourlife?  Does it cause you to see thingsfrom a different perspective?  Does itcause you to treat others kindlier?  Doesit make you more tolerable of others? Does it make you want to serve others in some way?   Or is it just another day? Another day preceding the next, and after the one that was yesterday andthe one that comes before tomorrow. Since we know the rest of the story, after that Christmaseve so long ago which brought the Christ child into the world, it certainlyshould change us.  Every day should notbe so much like the day before.  Weshould carefully unwrap each new day as if it were a gift that is delicate, expensive, worth having, and something worthy of sharing.   Why, you say?  Becausewhat the Christ child brought into the world was a confidence that someonegreater than ourselves, greater than our own mother and father, brothers, sisters, favorite uncles, or precious grandmothers.  Someone came into this world that foreverloves us, in a way that our families, friends, relatives, acquaintances, orlovers can ever love us.  And He wants usto spend eternity with Him.  Wrapped inlove.  Covered in grace.  Smothered in forgiveness.  Better than any gift that you might find atDenny’s.  (and I truly love SausageGravy).  Or that you might find anywhereelse for that matter. Contemplate what this day could possibly offer if the Christchild had not been born; if He had not come and walked the earth; if He had notbeen born as God’s offspring carried by the Virgin Mary and condemned by peoplewho thought they were doing the “proper thing”. If that had not happened, consider what this day after Christmas day wouldmean.  It would mean that Santa Claus hasgone home and won’t be back for another year. And that’s all.  It would meanthat the cookies and milk were consumed and the surprises left in their placewere either just what you wanted, or thought you wanted, or in place of whatyou really wanted.  But that’s it.   No lasting hope.  Nopromise of grace.  No promise offorgiveness.  No promise of sustaininglove, everlasting love, or everlasting life.  This day…the first day after Christmas day, the second nightafter Christmas eve night means everything to me.  It means a new beginning under the watchfulcaring of a loving Father, loving Son, and loving Holy Spirit to sustain meeach and every day that comes after Christmas Eve.   May you be richly blessed by the Holy Spirit, this day andevery day.  Prepare for a Happy New Year.  The worship video is  Blessings,Larry
